It is here! We are one week away from San Diego Comic-Con. After three years, we are getting back to the Convention Center, to Hall H. The hype is through the roof! Therefore, I had to take this opportunity to make some moves to promote my Substack page and meet new people.
First of all, SWAG! I’m taking with me a limited, first edition, maybe only edition, A Raptor in the Big Leagues Substack SWAG! That I will be handing among convention goers and pros of the industry. So if you are going or know someone who will and want to get your hand on some collector items, feel free to reach me. On this occasion, I’m going with the safe choice: pins, lanyards, and bookmarks.
When searching for products, my designer had the idea to make a brochure where I could add a comic-style sketch showing my Substack page. She took it from a government campaign about saving water for households. They handed pamphlets with a fun and informative short story that included a lesson for the family. We took the idea and turned it into my own comic book that will tell the story of my life, my Substack, and what is next. Promoting something with a comic book sounds innovative and interactive, but promoting a comic book page with a comic is even better.
Therefore, without further ado, here is the cover for my comic book writing debut!
As with the swag, I’ll hand the comic to convention goers and pros. Even though it promotes my page, this is the story of my life as a comic book fan, and it’s a juicy one. There are some references, and we even break the 4th wall! A 5-page tale you will enjoy and, hopefully, relate to.
Oh, and that’s not all! I have a surprise gift for many of my favorite creators in the industry that I will personally deliver to them. I’ll show pictures here after the convention, but it is a heartfelt present from the beautiful country of Peru, my home. And I will also publish the complete comic here after Comic-Con so you can all enjoy it!
And that’s it for today! I just wanted to give you a heads up about what’s happening in one week! I hope you can share this post so it can reach more people interested in getting the stuff I’m giving away. See you in San Diego!
