Don’t Push the Red Button: A 100 + Page Anthology Coming to Kickstarter this October.
An anthology including 11 different stories from over 30 professional comic creators spanning multiple genres!
Lima, Peru – Oscar Osorio and Geek Collective L.L.C. are proud to announce the upcoming release of “Don’t Push the Red Button,” a 100+ page anthology of 11 stories spanning multiple genres.
Don’t Push The Red Button is about a social dilemma: If you could press a button and receive lots of money, but someone would die, would you push it?
Oscar Osorio (A Never Ending Adventure, A Dog’s Life) called asking for submissions to his anthology, and over 120 working comic pros answered, which could pave the way for multiple volumes to come.
Oscar tells us how he came up with the idea for “Don’t Push The Red Button”:
My girlfriend and I like to talk about dumb stuff. If there’s something we will never lack in our relationship, it’s conversation topics. So, this idea came from one of these conversations. I don’t know the exact time, but it was at the beginning of the year. We were together for under six months, and one of the crucial questions to getting to know each other was: If you could push a button and win some money, but someone dies, would you do it? And we thought: that would be a great idea for a comic book. I was just starting with “A Never-Ending Adventure,” and I wanted that book to be my debut, but the anthology spark was lit. In that discussion, we came up with many ideas for stories for that situation, and we were amazed at how each one sounded better than the other. So we thought having other creators have the possibility to contribute seemed terrific.
The anthology will be available on Kickstarter starting October 23, 2023, and will offer a main cover by Francesca Fantini and a variant option by the talented Liana Kangas.
Early bird rewards will be available within the first 48 hours of the campaign. Standard, Foil Printed, and Black Light Activated Glow In The Dark Metal covers will also be offered.
Geek Collective will take on project management duties and release the anthology through their Kickstarter page.
Backers can sign up at geekcollective.net/redbutton.
The story's first five pages are also available for free > FREE PDF.
Publication of the book and fulfillment of orders are slated to be released in May of 2024 following an extensive deadline schedule beginning in February 2024 for final scripts and April of 2024 for final art.
Don’t Push the Red Button is sure to be a great success. We look forward to comic book fans from across the globe who answer the question: would you push the button?
